Autumn

Some years I think I don't appreciate the full beauty of autumn, but a road-trip this year has made it impossible for me to miss. I drove through usually green countryside and saw it transformed into scene after scene of colour - oranges, ambers, yellows, scarlets and reds. B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!

Farmers' Market

Took my camera down to the local farmers market this morning and captured a bunch of sweet textures and colours from the lovely produce. What doesn't translate to the images was the incredible open-fire type smell that wafted over the whole market from the wood-fired pizza stall, mingled with the (also amazing) scent of coriander (cilantro). Yum yum yum!

New Toy

So... I bought a new camera two days ago and am loving messing around with it and figuring it out! It's a Canon EOS 600D SLR and I can really notice the difference in colour definition and clarity from the Canon Powershot S3IS it's replacing. The S3IS was a faithful servant for many years and I think I'll miss it, especially it's incredible macro lens, but the macro I've got for the SLR seems to be performing really well.  

It even makes salt and pepper shakers look good :)
